Kirkwall to North Ronaldsay Ferry

• LOLO service (lift on/lift off) — vehicles are crane-lifted on and off. Weight limit 8,000kg. Not a drive-on ferry.
• Summer (3 May–27 Sep): Twice weekly, Tuesdays and Saturdays (some weeks Fridays instead of Saturday due to local events).
• Summer Tuesday dep Kirkwall 10:30 → North Ronaldsay arr 13:10, dep 13:40 → Papa Westray arr 14:55, dep 15:25 → Kirkwall arr 17:15.
  Some Tuesdays the vessel calls at Papa Westray first: dep KW 10:30 → Papa Westray arr 12:20, dep 12:50 → North Ronaldsay arr 14:05, dep 14:35 → Kirkwall arr 17:15.
• Summer Saturday dep Kirkwall 08:00 → North Ronaldsay arr 10:40, dep 11:10 → Kirkwall arr 13:50. North Ronaldsay only — no Papa Westray call on Saturdays.
• All summer departure times are estimates and subject to change due to cargo operations, weather and tide. Sailings confirmed the day before.
• Winter (29 Sep 2025–2 May 2026): Weekly, Saturdays only. Departure times vary week to week by tidal conditions — times not fixed. Decision made by 14:00 the day before sailing. Booking system shows 08:00 as placeholder only.

  Dec 2025: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th.

• Return from North Ronaldsay departs on completion of cargo operations.

Nordic Sea — Additional Foot Passenger Service (Summer only)

• Passenger only additional service on MV Nordic Sea, 3 May–27 Sep 2026. Advance booking and payment required.
• Sunday service (selected Sundays only): dep Kirkwall 13:30 → North Ronaldsay arr 16:00, dep 16:15 → Kirkwall arr 18:45.
• Boarding at North Ronaldsay is alongside the pier (not via link span).
• Does not operate on: 7 Jun, 5 Jul, 19 Jul, 30 Aug (excursion days).
• All sailings subject to weather and tidal conditions.

• 5 Jul: Kirkwall dep 09:00 → Sanday → North Ronaldsay arr 11:55, dep 16:00 → Sanday → Kirkwall arr 19:05.
• 2 Aug: Kirkwall dep 09:00 → Sanday → Papa Westray → Pierowall → Papa Westray → North Ronaldsay arr — (no North Ronaldsay call on 2 Aug — Papa Westray excursion only).
